Proprioceptive Corrector for Improved Stabilization

A device to aid dogs suffering from sciatic nerve insufficiency, sciatic nerve entrapment, degenerative myelopathy issues, intervertebral disc disease, fibrocartilaginous embolism, spinal injury, and neoplasia. Recommended for cases where your dog stumbles and places its paw on the ground unstably, causing the toes to twist while walking.

When is an anti-twisting stabilizer necessary?

When the dog is still able to transfer weight from one limb to another, despite weakened proprioception and loss of extensor digital function perfection, which causes toes and paw dragging on the ground on the dorsal side, leading to stumbling. The cord, connected to the neoprene part of the stabilizer at the hock joint, encourages the dog to walk correctly and place the paw on the ground properly.

The anti-twisting toe stabilizer for dogs was developed with dogs that drag their legs due to sciatic nerve issues in mind. It prevents twisting by supporting the two middle toes on the paw and is attached with a tightened elastic cord, which is adjustable and adheres to a strap wrapped around the hock joint.

The stabilizer with a cord ensures and encourages the dog to walk correctly and use the paw, preventing the dragging of the hind part of the paw on the ground and causing injury.

Recommended usage

  • for degenerative myelopathy
  • for spinal injuries
  • for intervertebral disc diseases
  • for neoplasia
  • for fibrocartilaginous embolism

The stabilizer offers two wearing options:

  • Daytime: Connect the end of the elastic cord to the tip of the correction boot for sciatic nerve (optional, not included). The dog boot with a loop is intended for sessions longer than 15 minutes.
  • Rehabilitation time: With one hand supporting the paw, place the neoprene part under the 3rd and 4th phalange, then pull the cord to achieve the desired tension level. Intended for sessions shorter than 15 minutes.

How to choose the right size?

1. Take a sewing tape or measuring tape and a cord.

2. Measure the circumference at the upper part of the foot, a few centimeters above the joint (if in doubt, check the instructions in the product images).

3. Find the size corresponding to the measurement in the size chart.

Size Hock Perimeter
