Using the Elastic Band for Better Balance and Rear Paw Movement
The elastic support band for stabilizing rear legs is designed to improve the quality of walking for dogs with proprioceptive issues and ataxia due to neurological problems. It is easy to use, as it can be attached to an H/Y harness for optimal comfort.
It helps the dog place the rear legs more correctly, reduces paw dragging on the ground, and due to the elastic material, eases the forward movement of the rear leg during walking.
!! Note: The band is not meant for support; it helps dogs with motor control disorders and poor coordination. The device is most effective when the dog also receives appropriate rehabilitation (physiotherapy, hydrotherapy)/physiotherapeutic and hydrotherapeutic treatments.
The system is based on elastic bands running from the back of the harness to the rear paws/legs. When the rear paw reaches the end of the step and the weight is transferred to the opposite paw, the band helps bring the rear paw straight forward, ready for the next step.
The elastic band aids the dog's forward movement, improving walking, protecting, and preventing toe twisting. It helps the dog learn to move the rear legs correctly while walking, enhancing coordination and muscle strength.

How to Install the Band?
The band is used with a properly fitted H/Y harness (not included).
Place the part of the band with anti-chafing pads on the rear legs, attach the elastic band to the back of the harness, and adjust it to the right size, ensuring the band is only slightly taut at rest.
In special cases, you can create a little more tension.
If in doubt, you can set the band so it is slightly taut and gradually increase the tension until you notice an improvement in the dog's walking pattern.
In the first days, the dog should use the band for only 10 minutes. After 15 days, the usage time can be extended to 30 minutes.
Once the dog gets used to the band, after one month of use (the adaptation time depends on the dog's activity level), the wearing time can be extended to the whole day. If the response is positive, the band can remain on; otherwise, the dog should be allowed a few hours of rest during the day.
How to Choose the Right Size?
Place an H/Y harness (not included) on the dog and, in a standing position, measure dimensions A and B with a tailor's tape measure or string as shown in the picture below.
A: Distance/length from the back buckle on the harness to the front of the paws (metatarsal bones) - SEE TABLE A
B: Circumference of the paw at the height of the metatarsal bones - SEE TABLE B
Match the right size with measurements from both tables below and choose the appropriate size.
Distance A | Circumference B |

40-45 cm | 5 -7 cm |
46-51 cm | 7.5 -10 cm |
52-59 cm | 10.5 -13 cm |
60-67 cm | 13.5 -18 cm |
