Post-surgery, Injuries, or Joint Issues

The hock brace is suitable for dogs with weakened hock joints, arthritis, after surgical procedures, or after ligament and tendon injuries in this area. It is made of breathable neoprene that provides support while being soft enough that dogs do not find it uncomfortable and it does not cause chafing. This is particularly common in greyhounds, which have exceptionally thin skin.

The brace also provides warmth, allowing for quicker regeneration of damaged tissues and reducing inflammation and pain.

How to choose the right size?

1. Use a tailor's measuring tape or string to measure the circumference below and above the hock joint as shown below.
2. Compare with the circumference in the table below. If you are in doubt between two sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size.

Instructions for use: Unfasten the velcro, then use both hands to stretch the brace and place it on the hock joint. The round hole should be directly over the joint, then fasten both velcro straps, but not too tightly. Initially, watch for any signs of rubbing. Remove the brace during rest.

for the first 2-3 days, the dog should wear the brace for a maximum of 4 hours a day to get used to the neoprene
it can be worn in both winter and summer, as it is breathable and will not cause overheating
the brace can be washed at 30°C on a delicate cycle (without fabric softener)
it should be air-dried, not in a tumble dryer!
