A harness even the most timid dog will accept
The Canuzzo harness is designed for dogs that find head-over dressing uncomfortable, allowing fastening from the side and/or front, and offering 6-point adjustments with light clasps that have additional safeguards against unfastening.
This system prevents discomfort and the daily stressful situation that a dog might experience while putting on a harness.
Why are weight and optimal harness fit so important?
Everything we put on a dog affects its comfort and movement. The impact is more direct in some cases than others, but effects will certainly accumulate in the muscles over time, reflecting in posture. To avoid the negative impact of equipment, owners must ensure that the dog feels comfortable and that its movement is unrestricted. Most harnesses on the market don't allow adjustments for individual straps, which means a dog's movement is restricted one way or another. In practice, this often results in being unable to fully extend the front legs.
The Canuzzo harness has 6 adjustment points. This ensures a perfect fit for every dog, without restricting its movement. The material used is extremely light and soft, pleasant to touch, and therefore comfortable to wear, making it more than suitable for the most sensitive dogs. Other qualities that distinguish the brand and set it at the top of the market are:
- Additional buckles on the front side to ease the process of putting on and removing the harness;
- A leash ring protector to prevent direct contact with the dog's back.
We recommend ...
to attach a silent ID tag/pendant, light, and GPS on the top strap on the back to prevent imbalance in movement and additional sound waves that could disturb the dog during a walk.
If your dog is very sensitive and poorly tolerates the equipment's contact with the body, it's necessary to view the situation from a broader perspective:
Have we done everything to eliminate the cause of sensitivity? Often, body sensitivity has roots in physical pain/discomfort and/or skin problems. Consult a holistic veterinarian who will consider all aspects of your dog's life and behavior and offer appropriate treatment. Remember, signs of pain in dogs are very subtle and often invisible to the inexperienced eye. How to choose the right harness size?
1. Take a tailor's measuring tape
2. Ensure the measuring process is as comfortable as possible. Instead of bending over the dog, sit beside it facing away with your head and body. If it's easier, you can also invite the dog to step onto a bench/bed/chair.
3. Measure the girth at the widest point of the chest, usually located a few cm behind the front leg (shown in the image below).
