A quick, practical, and healthy alternative to a balanced meal for dogs on an elimination diet, kidney diet, or on days when you don't offer meat. Many dogs today suffer from so-called food intolerance. They react to common meats like chicken, turkey, or beef, as well as to grains, soy, and/or dairy products. Issues may also be caused by frequently used binders, fillers, and flavor enhancers in food (especially in dry food – kibble).
Every ingredient in food can be a cause of intolerance. The dog's immune system fights protein molecules, which the body classifies as 'foreign', with a defensive response (diarrhea, belching, vomiting, itching, ...).
Be aware of the most common allergy triggers; animal proteins (poultry, beef) and/or plant sources such as grains or soy. A diet reduced in protein or a kidney diet by feeding Napani vegan menus can also be beneficial for kidney disease or insufficiency.
Symptoms of intolerance in dogs:
- red skin (red spots)
- dermatitis
- itching
- issues with clogged anal glands and itching of the rear
- hair loss
- digestive problems (frequent diarrhea)
- weight loss without reduced food intake
- ear issues
Idea: it also pairs perfectly as a side dish to meat (BARF or cooked) for a complete meal.
!! Note: Consult with a veterinarian before use.
Idea for a healthy and balanced meal on a 'meat-free day'.
- Napani vegan organic wet food menus for dogs are also ideal for an elimination diet!
Nowadays, allergies in dogs are very common. Symptoms can manifest in different ways; skin issues, stomach issues such as vomiting and nausea in dogs, or general digestive problems. If you notice that your dog frequently belches after meals and has issues with acid and digestion, one way to identify what irritates its digestion is through an 'elimination diet', which is sensible and precise in such cases.
Elimination Diet – What is it?
Or in other words, a 'removal diet' is a method of feeding and a tool for identifying intolerances, sensitivities, and allergies in dogs. This means intentionally eliminating certain foods from the dog's diet and focusing on restricting traditional protein sources; meat, eggs, or dairy products – intake of insect proteins is suggested. Then gradually return foods that do not harm the dog into the diet.
