An Essential Supplement for All Breeders - FertiAdapt®

Due to poorer nutrient absorption from food or genetic predispositions, some breeders often experience reduced fertility in either males or females. We present the solution! FertiAdapt® is a complementary feed mix to support the preparation of estrus in females and reproduction. It is used for both males and females; we recommend administering it to males 2 months before mating, and for females at least 4 months before the heat cycle. Due to the content of selenium and zinc, it aids fertility in both sexes, as both help in the metabolism of thyroid hormones. Zinc deficiency can lead to reduced fertility in females, as it is crucial for the synthesis of estrogen and progesterone.

The supplement contains essential amino acids, L-carnitine, which provides energy to the body while also protecting the joints. Arginine, which is added to the FertiAdapt® product, helps maintain sperm mobility and benefits male fertility. In addition to these, it also contains vitamin A and E, which significantly affect reproduction, as well as turmeric, which has antioxidant properties and a beneficial effect on the whole body. Cinnamon, present in the supplement, positively impacts reproductive abilities, as it is a powerful antioxidant, stimulates circulation, and contributes to maintaining cholesterol levels in the blood.

Active Ingredients:

AMINO ACIDS

L-CARNITINE – an important component for animal health. It plays a crucial role in sperm mobility and has a protective function for joints. It also ensures normal heart function. L-carnitine can support males in reproduction with beneficial effects on spermatozoa in terms of number, concentration, mobility, and integrity. Sperm require a lot of energy for their activity, which is partly provided by long-chain fatty acids, so low availability of L-carnitine can be a limiting factor for sperm capacity.

L-ARGININE – an amino acid produced by all body tissues, performing fundamental functions for the cardiovascular, immune, and nervous systems. It is a source of nitric oxide, which aids in the process of capacitation (ability to fertilize) and the acrosome reaction (changes to the sperm head that allow it to enter the egg to fertilize it). Thus, L-arginine-based supplements can be beneficial for reproductive support. A particularly interesting study by Shafer and others (1997) showed that arginine also improves sperm morphology.

Even in normally fertile dogs with a normal spermogram, arginine can increase sperm mobility. This fact can be useful, for example, for males whose ejaculations are intended for preservation through cooling or freezing.

TAURINE is found as a free substance in animal tissues: in meat, fish, crustaceans, etc., while it is completely absent in the plant world. In most mammals, it can be synthesized from methionine and cysteine, but not in cats. Since regular food is low in taurine, it is necessary, especially for cats, to be fed a diet rich in taurine.
Research at Cornell University particularly showed that laboratory mice fed a taurine-deficient diet were highly likely to be sterile, as their sperm had significant changes, especially at the tail level. These changes disappeared after taurine supplementation in the diet.

MICROELEMENTS

Microelements are essential for animal nutrition; an important aspect is that animals cannot synthesize them (unlike other nutrients) and they must be present in the diet.

SELENIUM - a mineral with antioxidant activity. Selenium deficiency can coincide with a deficiency of vitamin E, another molecule with antioxidant properties.

ZINC – is a mineral; mainly distributed in hair, feathers, bones, and teeth. It is absorbed (not all contained in the diet) in the intestinal tract, and high amounts of calcium inhibit its utilization. It is crucial for growth, skin and hair keratinization, osteogenesis and chondrogenesis, and normal testicular and seminiferous tubule function. Insufficient dietary intake could affect normal sperm maturation, potentially lacking power and mobility. Furthermore, zinc deficiency can also affect testosterone levels, as this mineral is involved in the synthesis of these hormones. Zinc plays an essential role in regulating hormones in the female reproductive system. Essentially, it is crucial for synthesizing estrogen and progesterone

VITAMINS

Vitamins are classified based on solubility, either as lipid-soluble or fat-soluble, which dissolve in fats and nonpolar solvents; and water-soluble (not stored in the body, so they must be ingested daily with food), which dissolve in water and polar solvents. All vitamins are responsible for specific tasks, and their deficiency can cause dysfunction.

VITAMIN A (retinol) is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in vision, bone growth, and maintaining normal immune system functions. Vitamin A is essential for vision as it is a component of the retina. Another function is in tissues that secrete mucus, in the digestive, respiratory, and urogenital systems, but mainly, vitamin A significantly impacts reproduction.

VITAMIN E is liposoluble, also known as alpha-tocopherol (from Greek, meaning "bringing forth offspring", hence also called the fertility vitamin). In animal tissues, vitamin E is present in small doses, except in the placenta and pituitary glands, which are particularly rich in it. It performs important functions in the reproductive field, both male and female. Among other things, it protects vitamin A and saturated and unsaturated fatty acids from auto-oxidation. Acts as a preventive measure against early miscarriage and counteracts some forms of infertility. It can also increase the body's tolerance to toxic substances. Possible deficiency symptoms affect the genital sphere and may also result from selenium deficiency or the presence of large quantities of fat, especially if rancid.

PLANT COMPONENTS

SPIRULINA ALGAE - Very rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins, known for its antioxidant properties. It contains all essential amino acids, consists of 60% protein, and besides rare essential fatty acids, it also has a high concentration of beta-carotene, vitamin B12, iron, and minerals, making it one of the most complete foods on the planet. Spirulina algae are known for their chelation function (which "holds" heavy metals and promotes their removal without them having harmful functions).

TURMERIC - Active ingredients such as curcuminoids, with curcumin being the most active, are obtained from its rhizome. Due to the presence of minerals and vitamins, turmeric is a powerful antioxidant in the fight against free radicals.

CINNAMON - cinnamon has always had widespread use and was considered a very valuable spice. Cinnamon essential oil contains about 70% cinnamaldehyde. In recent years, the functions of cinnamaldehyde have been studied in more detail, particularly regarding the field of reproduction.

Cinnamon is considered a powerful natural antioxidant, promotes circulation, and contributes to maintaining normal cholesterol levels in the blood.

MELON - Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is a plant from the Cucurbitaceae family. The fruit pulp of melon is attributed with various medicinal properties, including antioxidant activity, diuretic effects, and kidney protection. These effects are closely related to the presence of vitamin E.
