Soft Brace with Added Spring for Enhanced Ankle Joint Stabilization in Dogs
At Ortocanis, they have designed a new product that boasts a high-quality, waterproof material - neoprene, and its multi-purpose functionality. The ankle brace helps stabilize, as well as reduce pain and accelerate the rehabilitation process. It is indicated for various types of tarsal injuries, as it can help "only" as a protector, immobilization equipment with a metal spring, and intermediate stages.
This is an indispensable rehabilitation equipment for dogs with weak ankle joints, for those recovering from surgery, or needing support and stabilization of the tarsal joint due to osteoarthritis or ligament injuries, such as tarsal hyperextension.
The combination of ARD neoprene (high dynamic resistance) together with adjustable side springs allows immobilization, support, and better joint stability without compromising its mobility and comfort during use.
The set includes a soft brace with an added reinforced spring for better ankle joint immobilization, which can be removed when the dog no longer needs them.
Note: The brace is sold in pairs (for the left and right leg).
Recommendations
- Introduce the product gradually. In the first 2 to 3 days, the dog should wear the brace for only a few hours. After each use, check for any adverse reactions (redness, hair loss) on the hair and skin.
- The product retains the dog's body temperature, making it suitable for use in both winter and summer.
- If necessary, hand wash the product with cold water and air dry.
How to Choose the Right Size?
To determine the correct size, measure the length of your pet's ankle joint (including two centimeters above and below the joint). Perform the measurement when the dog is standing upright, calm, and looking forward.
1. Take a tailor's tape or measuring string.
2. Measure the length of the ankle joint, including two centimeters above and below the joint in the final measurement.
3. Compare the measurement with the table below and choose the appropriate size. If the dog is between two sizes, choose the larger brace.
4. When ordering the product, include the measured length of the ankle joint in the note and specify the breed or describe the dog's shape.
Size | Brace Length | Maximum Measured Ankle Length | Minimum Measured Ankle Length |
XS | 13 cm | 12-13 cm | 9-10 cm |
S | 15 cm | 14-15 cm | 11-12 cm |
M | 17 cm | 15-17 cm | 13-15 cm |
L | 20 cm | 18-20 cm | 15-16 cm |
XL | 23 cm | 20-22 cm | 16-18 cm |
