Witch hazel, renamed by American colonists as Witch Hazel (an expression still used by Americans and British today) or "witch's hazel," concentrates most of its active ingredients in the bark and leaves, which are the parts of the shrub most used in phytotherapy. In particular, witch hazel leaves have a high concentration of tannins, flavonoids, gallic acid, and mucilages, imparting significant astringent, soothing, and decongestant properties to the plant.

Marigold extract is a preparation obtained from marigold (Calendula Officinalis) flowers, an ornamental plant well known in the phytotherapeutic field for its soothing and softening properties.
