Gel for Soothing Irritated Skin with Natural Extracts
CortiAdapt® is a gel with emollient and nourishing effects for the skin, which calms redness and keeps the skin in good condition. It is suitable for both dogs and cats, for topical use. It is formulated with extracts of aloe for moisturizing, oak for its astringent properties, and lactoferrin to promote healthy skin function and elasticity. The carefully selected protective and nourishing formula disinfects and is a great addition to any first aid kit. The gel is an indispensable addition for the treatment of skin conditions characterized by itching, redness, and changes in the hydrolipid film.
The particularly gentle formula of CortiAdapt® gel is also suitable for puppies. We recommend applying 2-3 times daily. For better absorption, a gentle massage is recommended.
The gel can help after suture removal, including after a cesarean section, as it prevents itching and irritation. It can also be used by nursing mothers, and there is no danger if licked by dogs. CortiAdapt gel for topical use does not contain active ingredients with a level of toxicity, especially in such limited amounts, remembering that it contains lactoferrin, a glycoprotein mainly produced by the mammary gland of mammals and thus present in both mother's milk and animal's milk. Its main role is the colonization of mucous membranes of mammals, making them more protected. Lactoferrin is the main protection against bacterial and viral infections in young animals, as it can stimulate the immune response in these young animals.
Active Ingredients:
Black Currant (Ribes nigrum) is a plant of the Sassifragaceae family. It is one of those plants where different parts are used and has numerous applications. The leaves, whose main components are triterpenes and a polyphenolic complex, have cleansing and restoring properties for the skin. Black currant leaf extract is often used in products for topical application in cases of changes to the skin epithelium and for redness. The fruit, rich in citric acid, malic acid, vitamin C, trace elements, polyunsaturated acids, flavonoids, and anthocyanins, is also beneficial due to its astringent, toning, and refreshing action.
The use of oak extracts is a widely known practice dating back to ancient times: acorns, roots, and bark contain numerous active ingredients, primarily due to the presence of tannins such as catechins and ellagitannins; flavonoids like quercetin; and finally, resins and pectins, which are highly abundant in the protoplast.
Oak tincture is indicated to promote re-epithelialization and restore the physiological condition of the skin.
